Manuela García
Manuela García currently lives and works in Mexico City, but grew up in Medellin, Colombia. She considers herself a sculptor, interested in the relationship between bodies in space.
She holds a BA in Fine Arts by the National University of Colombia. She was part of the MA program in Visual Arts at the Brera Academy in Milan. During the course of one year, she worked in the Textil art atelier in the School of Arts and Crafts in Granada, Spain. She successfully completed the SOMA arts educational program in México City (2016).
Her work has been shown in solo shows such as: Mediating forms at Efraín Lopez Gallery (NYC); and On the surface (2022) at Peana Gallery (Mexico City).
Some of her previous exhibitions include Liaisons at Maison Jaune (Paris); Disorienting plans (2022), at Parsons Gallery (NYC); Uncertain measure (2021) at Fundidora Museum (Monterrey, México); Inextinguishable Fire (2015) at Temporary Gallery (Cologne, Germany); Transcripciones (2015) at El Chopo Museum (Mexico City); Welcome to the fear city (2020) at Bodega Acme (Mexico City); and Me from you – you from me (2019) at the Mexico City Museum.
