Antinea Jimena Pérez Castro

Born in Mexico in 1985, lives and works in France since 2005.

Antinea Jimena is a multidisciplinary artist. Her work oscillates between the vegetal and the human, the roots and the uprooting, fragility, and the experience of materiality.

She breathes life into landscapes and bodies, through drawing, painting, and performance. Her vision is led by the singularity, irregularity, and vulnerability of living materials.

Antinea often experiments with ancestral-practices, knowledge, and materials, like pigments, earth, papers, threads, dance, and ritual theater.

Her personal practice includes collaborations with other artists and experimenting with various disciplines, such as- dance, video, theater, improvised music, ceramics, publishing, photography.
These encounters materialize in collective creations, exhibitions, and performances in dialogue with the places that host them.
