The idea of this painting follows the story of the water-nymph Daphne from Greek mythology, but substitutes the unwanted, ever-watching eye of Apollo with a different kind of overseer. "Where Is That Happy Ending?" represents the transformative journey that Richie Nath, the artist, is on. Justas the figure in the painting is shedding this human form and becoming a tree, he is shedding his old identity and embracing a new one. This painting is a symbol of the hope and possibility that he sees in my future, as he continues to grow and evolve.
