Andro Semeiko-Antelidze

Andro Semeiko-Antelidze is a London-based Georgian-British artist who creates paintings, installations, and artist's books that construct psychological spaces reflecting his vision of the world. His recent work examines how we navigate a reality shaped by news and social media, set against the backdrop of the looming threat of climate disaster and ongoing global conflicts. His practice weaves together multilayered paradigms imbued with elements of absurdity and satire. Semeiko-Antelidze views his work as an “expanded painting” practice, through which he explores the use of different media and collaborates with writers, scientists, actors, dancers, and other artists.

Semeiko-Antelidze has shown his work at the Tate Modern, Royal Academy of Arts, Whitechapel Gallery, Camden Arts Centre, PEER, Gasworks, Saatchi Gallery, Holburne Museum, CFCCA, The Lowry, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Wroclaw, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Seoul Museum of Art, and international exhibitions including Prague Biennial 4, Glasgow International 2012 and 3rd Tbilisi Triennial. He was the recipient of the British Institution Award from the RA Summer Exhibition 2004, The Berwick Gymnasium Fellowship 2009, and Abbey Fellowship in Painting at the British School at Rome 2022-23. Semeiko-Antelidze is currently undertaking a residency at the London Museum Studios.
